MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

- This public service feature runs each Saturday in the Lethbridge Herald.

Adah was found the day after she was born, separated from her mother in a feral colony. Reunited, her mom still couldn’t take care of her, being far too young herself. Her two siblings died, but Adah is living for them, too, in foster care — and how she has taken up that challenge! Strong, curious, active, Adah is a beautiful, healthy, whiteand-black girl (with a brush of black on her chin). She looks more mature than her four months but has plenty of kitten in her — don’t you worry about that! Her personality is still developing, and you have the chance to be the biggest influence in her life. Play with her — lots! — cuddle with her, talk to her and care for her. You will be HER person. Her best pal is Tucker, a medium-haired black cat about 10 or 12 days older. They needn’t be adopted together, but kittens always thrive better when with someone from whom they can learn — and Tucker’s been a wonderful “big” brother. Meet them in person — today! Come to the downtown Homes Alive between noon and 3 p.m. to meet the newest PAW cats available for adoption. Or call the PAW Society at 403-3286700 or send an online inquiry at www.pawsociety.com. Adah and Tucker have a lifetime ahead of them — let them spend it with you!

Jingles is such a cute little girl that you just want to hug her to bits! She has a sweet little face with big bright eyes. Jingles came to the Humane Society in the winter of 2017-18, and settled in well. She gets along with everyone and the volunteers love her! She’s playful and adorable! Jingles’ adoption fee is $260; she’s spayed and her shots are up to date. She’s all ready for her forever home. If you are interested in meeting Jingles you can visit her at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 16 Ave. N. or call 403-3208991). Rolo is anticipating a successful bottle drive today and would like to thank everyone for donating returnables to this event. The Last Chance Cat Ranch has over 30 kittens waiting for their forever homes, in addition to over 80 adults. Adoptions fees include neuter/spay, vaccines, microchips, deworming and whatever else is needed to improve the health of cats in rescue. You can read more about what we do by visiting www.facebook.com/lastchance catranch or www.thelastchancecatranch.com. Thank you to everyone who supports our rescue efforts. And thank you to everyone in our community who independently help homeless cats by providing shelter, food and veterinary care.

Stevie is a sweet, baby who was found at the dump on July 3 when she was approximately three weeks old. She was sick with an upper respiratory infection and very dehydrated. She is also blind. Stevie is doing very well and has no trouble adapting to her surroundings but unfortunately both her eyes need to be removed. Our account at Green Acres Animal Hospital is very high and we are in desperate need of donations to help with her surgery. No amount is too small. Please call Linda (403-381-9269) or Sam (403-382-0977) of Purrfect Endings Rescue for more information. We are also on Facebook.

Daisy is a very large mixed breed dog around eight months old. She is not for the faint at heart as this girl is rambunctious and has energy to spare — which can feel overwhelming for some just due to her size. She’s super friendly and respectful of new people, dogs, etc. She has a hilarious personality and will keep you laughing with her antics. She walks pretty well on leash (once she’s tired, anyway!) and loves to play. She’ll fetch and play tug and would make a great family pet (due to her overwhelming size and her tendency to act like a bull in a china shop, we feel really young kids might not be appropriate). Call 403-359-3139 or visit

www.windycityrescue.com for more information.
