Kijiji founder to speak at chamber event
Impressive list of speakers for Opportunity South Summit
The Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce is bringing in a dynamic group of business leaders to speak at its third annual Opportunity South Summit Oct. 2-3.
Featured speakers include Kijiji founder Janet Bannister, WestJet public affairs manager Robert Palmer, who will speak about WestJet’s expansion into Lethbridge among other topics, ATB Financial’s managing director of its Corporate Social Responsibility division Sandra Huculak, and Kelley J. Lendsey, one of Canada’s foremost innovators on Indigenous workplace inclusion.
“This year’s theme for Opportunity South is ‘Southern Alberta Strong,’ said Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce president Kristie Kruger at the official lineup announcement on Thursday.
“And we are extremely proud of this lineup (of speakers) to continue to talk about not only what southern Alberta has currently, but what our future vision is and how much stronger we can be. I think the southern Alberta region has a great opportunity for strength in building diversity for our economy and making our community one of the strongest it can be — actually across Canada, not just Alberta.”
Kruger hoped many would come out and take part in this year’s twoday Opportunity South Summit, which includes a Leaders of Lethbridge mixer and trade show as part of this year’s festivities. “(At the Chamber), we want to be a champion for a stronger community, a catalyst for business growth and a convener of leaders and influencers within our community. Coming together at this mixer is a great opportunity to chat with other like-minded businesses, be a mentor, have an opportunity to get mentored, and just enjoy the environment.”
The Opportunity South Summit will take place Oct. 2-3 at the Sandman Signature Lethbridge Lodge.
