• The South Region Self Advocacy

Network (SRSAN) will host its 9th annual Citizen Walk About Sept. 28 from City Hall to Galt Gardens, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. The event highlights issues faced by persons with disabiliti­es and seeks to promote a more inclusive community. Festivitie­s include a barbecue and talent show in the park. Acts include singing, dancing, rapping and art displays. All proceeds will support SRSAN and advocacy initiative­s. Nature Centre Society will present the official DVD release of the local documentar­y “Wildlife of the Oldman River Valley,” filmed by Rick Andrews,

Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. at the Lethbridge Public Library (main branch). The event will feature a screening of the film, Q&A with wildlife photograph­er and filmmaker Rick Andrews, and an opportunit­y to purchase the DVD. All proceeds from the event and DVD sales will go toward the Nature Centre’s Outdoor Learning Classroom and Amphitheat­re project. The film takes viewers on a 43-minute journey through the diverse wildlife in Lethbridge’s river valley. Tickets can be purchased online at www.rumbleinth­ecage.com. • In 1890 Alexander Galt built a Customs House that straddled the Canadian/U.S. border to provide services for the narrow gauge railway he built from Lethbridge to Great Falls, Montana. The Customs House’s 128th Birthday will be celebrated Sept. 29 from 1-4 p.m. at te Galt Historic Railway Park north of Stirling. There will be birthday cake, beverages and tours of this historic building. The park is located 25 minutes south of Lethbridge on Highway 4.
