Changing ways of the employment process

-

Technology certainly brings many benefits with its implementation. We are able to accomplish so much more as a result of applying our hiring needs with its offerings. One area that should be considered, however, is how technology may have a negative impact in the hiring process.

Many job applications require that the process begins with an online application. The next step involves the staff who are hired to discern the candidates whose background presents as most conducive to the job requirements. However, the starting point in this chosen form of the hiring process leaves some promising candidates to experience so much disconnection from the potential employer that the rest of the steps remain equally aloof. This problem becomes all the worse as the lines of communication from the person responsible for filling required positions is also not able to communicate the rest of the process.

Most of the time the job posting itself is so vague that it is not even clear what the job entails, or what is expected from the new hire. It is unquestionably expensive to continue to seek staff out to fill required positions in any organization or company. It is far better to establish a clear line of communication with new hires and make sure that the job posting, job description, and first day at work create a sense of stability and hope for a successful future in the new role that not only becomes a source of income but also provides a sense of belonging.

There needs to be mutual respect and consideration in the hiring process. The ambiguity that is created from a lack of communication for the job applicant is challenging. The world of work should be a positive experience. Job applicants should be considered as important as potential clients. In turn, job applicants should let employers know if they understand what the job actually is for which they are applying. Ultimately, job postings and job descriptions should be written strategically, clearly and purposefully.
