Where’s the leadership in drug crisis?

I find it interesting that Mayor Spearman feels Lethbridge is in a leadership role when it comes to the opioid crisis and is somehow promoting that here.

If Lethbridge is the leader among Alberta cities and towns in the same position, it really shows how poorly everyone has performed when it comes to this “crisis”!

Harm reduction that has no treatment, no rehab and no deterrents courtesy of the NDP does not take this long to figure out. This “leading edge thinking” article arrives, coincidentally, at the same time the BRZ (Business Revitalization Zone) puts the council and local police force on notice!

So who is right? Well, less than a year ago I stated what would occur: 1,000 users at SCS by November 2018, crime up and property values down, businesses would be upset, empty or easy-access buildings would be broken into during winter 2018 for warmth, and NDP/federal government would blindly be “saving lives”!

So far, four for four, with five for five coming this winter. Stand by as 1,000ish crazed meth-heads (cheapest drug on the streets this winter) now run rampant in downtown while the NDP ponder constitutionally the rights of the meth-heads and whether Alberta should pass an Intoxicated Persons Detention Act. I am sure the NDP will promise action if you would only elect them one more time!

Drug addicts have rights, drug addicts need a safe place to shoot up, drug addicts need to select which laws they will abide by. Drug addicts need to ensure our downtown becomes their zoo, BRZ has no rights and if the business owners get “outraged”? Well, we’re saving lives here, move aside!

Meth comes to small-city Alberta when one adopts big-city solutions. Want to know how this all turns out? Look at Vancouver east side, it’s our future.
