• A Food Bank Swim is being offered Nov. 17 from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. at City of Lethbridge pools - Stan Siwik, Fritz Sick and Nicholas Sheran pools. Bring a nonperishable food item and/or a financial donation to support local food banks and receive free admission. • A Christmas Craft Sale is planned for Nov. 17 at the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta, 470 40 St. S. The East door will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome. • Helen Schuler Nature Centre’s Junior Naturalists program for ages 6-10 will continue Nov. 17 from 10 a.m.-noon, taking place offsite at Pavan Park. Adults must sign children in and pick them up promptly at noon. • Christmas at Casa, featuring work by more than 10 local artists, will continue Nov. 17 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at 230 8 St. S. Featuring crafts, music and a cafe. Free admission. Accepting donations on behalf of Christmas Hope. More details at artslethbridge.org. • Galt Museum’s Saturdays at 1:00 hands-on history event for children to attend with adults continues Nov. 17 from 1-2 p.m., featuring “Printmaking.” Come and learn about the history of paper money. You will get the chance to design and print your own personal bill using scratch foam and ink rollers. Registration not required. Museum admission applies (free to annual pass holders). • The Lethbridge Public Library will host its annual Spelling Bee (for participants in Grades 4–6) on Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. The program takes place in the Main Branch Theatre Gallery. All spellers must pre-register at lethlib.ca. • The German Canadian Club of Lethbridge, 902 6 St. N., will present Shooters Festival (Schuetzenfest), A Shooters Dinner and Dance, Nov. 17. The Hubertus Shooters Club will be featured. Doors open at 6 p.m., dinner at 7 p.m., dance at 8 p.m. Live music by Alpen Schatz. Cost is $25 per member, $30 per invited guest. • 55-Plus at Via Church (formerly River of Life) welcomes all to their monthly potluck suppers on the third Saturday of each month at 5:30 p.m. at 2820 18 Ave. N. • Lethbridge Symphony, in conjunction with community choir Vox Musica, two Chinook High School vocal ensembles, and mezzo-soprano Erinn EvdokimoffRoberts, will present Karl Jenkins’ “The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace” Nov. 18 at 3 p.m. and Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Southminster United Church. challenge which requires participants to write a 50,000-word manuscript between

• Volunteer Lethbridge will offer giftwrapping services to the community at Park Place Shopping Centre from Nov. 19-Dec. 24 during all shopping hours. Volunteers will wrap gifts purchased from anywhere. Bring in individual gifts, gifts for staff parties or gifts for your customers. Contact us to make arrangements to take care of your multi-package wrapping needs. Prices, per gift, range from $3 to $20 depending on the size of the package.
