• A Christmas Craft Sale is planned for Nov. 17 at the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta, 470 40 St. S. The East door will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Everyone is welcome. • St. Ambrose Catholic Women’s League will host a Turkey Supper on Nov. 18 from 4-6 p.m. at St. Joseph School (west entrance), 1413 23 Ave., Coaldale. Adults and takeout $15; six-10 years $7; under six-under free. 50/50 tickets $1; proceeds to Coaldale Food Bank. Everyone welcome. • Contemplat­io (formerly Taizé Prayer) takes place Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Martha Retreat Centre, featuring ecumenical, meditative, multilingu­al, musical devotion, based on the music and style of the French ecumenical religious community of Taizé, a world-renowned centre of pilgrimage and prayer. • A Silent Directed Retreat will take place from Friday, Nov. 23, 7:30 p.m. to Sunday, Nov. 25, 1 p.m. at Martha Retreat Centre, 1130 Scenic Drive S. This weekend retreat offers you the opportunit­y to come to a quiet space where you can be honest, accepted as you are and be accompanie­d by a trained spiritual director. • The Salvation Army will hold its 51st annual Coffee and Carols Dec. 2 at 2:30 p.m. at the Salvation Army Community Church, 1302 4 Ave. S., with special guest Lethbridge Christian Women’s Choir led by Monica Baczuk, and guest vocal soloist Heather Holinaty. Lots of congregati­onal carol singing, led by City Counsellor Mark Campbell, followed by coffee and Christmas goodies.
