Two wanted suspects are in custody following a standoff with police overnight Monday into Tuesday.

Late Monday, members of the Lethbridge Police Priority Crimes Unit were actively searching for a 23year-old man, wanted in connection with a break, enter and theft of firearms from a northside home earlier this month.

Police say he was located inside a home along Blackfoot Boulevard West late in the evening, but refused to exit or make contact with police. As a result, the Critical Incident Response Team was deployed.

Four people: the 23-year-old suspect, along with a second man wanted in connection with the same incident, and two women, exited the home several hours later and were taken into custody.

A search warrant was subsequently executed and police recovered a .22-calibre handgun, LPS said in a news release.

Dylan Ivan Sokol, 23, of Lethbridge, is charged with being unlawfully at large, break and enter to steal firearms and uttering threats. Carter Dylan Rains, 26, of Lethbridge, is charged with break and enter to steal firearms and breach of a recognizance.

Both remain in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing. The two women were released without charges.

Police said investigation in the matter is ongoing and no further information will be released.
