MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

-

Oksana and her kittens were brought to the Humane Society in May 2016. Oksana is a young, pretty calico with strikingly beautiful eyes. She’s a shy girl who withdraws from people in a busy atmosphere like the cat room. In a home environment she likes attention and is quite affectionate once she gets to know you. She gets along well with other cats, and shares a kennel with another young female. Oksana was a wonderful mama to her babies, and now she could use some babying also. If you are interested in meeting Oksana, you can visit her at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 16 Ave. N. or call 403320-8991). To view other Haven pets, go to

www.lethbridgehumanesociety.com and click on the Available Pets link. Also check out the Lethbridge and District Humane Society on Facebook.

Jaggers and Marco are bonded brothers that have been waiting patiently for a home of their own. Both are gentle, intelligent and healthy boys. They came into rescue in October 2017 and have been fully vetted and put on weight to where they are now solid. Their owner had passed and nobody in the family was willing to take them. If you would like to meet these dear boys, please go to our website and fill in an application

www.thelastchancecatranch.com. You can also read more about our cats by visiting our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/lastchancecatranch. Thank you to everyone who donated returnables to our bottle drive today. We are at the Handmade Market next Saturday at Exhibition Park then Meet Your Maker on the 15th at the Royal Canadian Legion General Stewart Branch. Come and meet with our volunteers and find some unique items for that special person for Christmas. Thank you to everyone who faithfully supports our rescue efforts at the Last Chance Cat Ranch.

Have you ever seen one of those buddy movies in which the main characters are a couple of mismatched individuals, one intellectual and the other street-wise? Or perhaps one is always on the go, never tied down, while the other is a stable family man? Well, Ollie is a lot like that — only he’s both characters! He’s a 21-month-old fellow who could be from the gentle sweetness of a children’s film — or the high energy of a thrilling adventure flick. This boy is sometimes the lover, wanting nothing more than hours of cuddling and kissing; sometimes, he’s an action hero, with too much power to sit still. He’ll be the dormouse from Alice in Wonderland, just wanting to lie down and snooze; then, he’ll be MacGyver, because he can make a toy out of anything. When you have Ollie, you have a cast of characters that will keep you entertained — and in love. He may have a little stage-fright when you first meet him, but once he learns the script, he’ll play all the parts you could want in a cat. Casting calls are through the PAW Society at 403-328-6700, or by sending an online inquiry at www.pawsociety.com. Meet Ollie and you’ll be his No. 1 fan.

Ella came to us along with four other siblings when they were only a day old. All five had been tangled in a tight ball by their umbellical cords. Sadly, one kitten passed away from sepsis. Another kitten, Kayden, lost both her back feet and part of her back legs. She is doing amazing and has found her furever home, along with her brother Squeaks, with their wonderful foster mom. Ella is a total sweetie. She loves to jump and wrestle with her siblings. Her adoption fee is $225 which includes: deworming, first vaccinations and spay. Call Linda (403-381-9269) or Sam (403-382-0977) of Purrfect Endings Rescue for more information. We are also on Facebook. Trevor and Norman are now up for adoption at Petland; thanks to thank Allan, Jolene and their staff for all their support. We are at the Big Christmas Farmers Market and Trade Show this weekend, continuing today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Stop by our booth and have a look at the great items we will be selling. Please help us help those with no choice and no voice.

Hazel is a female 10-year-old chihuahua cross. Hazel is quite friendly with adults and kids but would prefer to be in a single-pet home. She is fearful of other dogs and doesn’t seem to enjoy the company of her foster cat siblings. She’s fantastic on leash and is housetrained. She’s also quiet in the house and is an easy dog to care for. She is deaf but copes quite well. Like many chihuahuas, Hazel hates the cold. Please visit www.windycityrescue.com or call 403-359-3139 for more information.
