A 43-year-old Lethbridge man charged with trafficking heroin and methamphetamine, among other crimes, pleaded guilty to two breaches of his release conditions on Friday in Lethbridge provincial court.

Cordelle Daniel Bad Arm was sentenced to seven days in jail for each of the breaches and was told to pay a $100 victim surcharge for each conviction.

Another charge of possession of a prohibited firearm was withdrawn by the Crown.

Bad Arm is facing other charges, including two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property and possession of the proceeds of crime. He will return to court on Jan.10 and is expected to enter pleas on his remaining charges then.

On Nov. 3, a member of the Downtown Policing Unit was conducting a bike patrol along the 600 block of 8 Street South when he observed a man inside a parked vehicle. The officer recognized the subject as having outstanding warrants.

Bad Arm was subsequently arrested without incident, police said. During a search incidental to the arrest, police say they recovered quantities of methamphetamine, heroin, cash and drug trafficking paraphernalia such as scales, packaging supplies and cellphones. In addition, the man was also in possession of two high-end bikes that were determined to be stolen.

Bad Arm was released on $1,000 cash bail for those charges on Nov. 9.
