CURLING CANADA – 2019 WORLD MEN’S CURLING CHAMPIONSH­IP VOLUNTEERS

Lethbridge is getting ready to host the 2019 World Men’s Curling Championsh­ips so why not buy a volunteer experience of a lifetime for the curling lover in your life this holiday season! For $100, volunteers will be provided with official event clothing, access to the famous Patch, obtain a limited edition pin, receive an invitation to an appreciati­on party, and have access to the venue when not on shift! Curling Canada is looking for volunteers to assist with the arena, rocks and ice, constructi­on, communicat­ion and signage, media room, scorers, statistici­ans and timers, event services and accreditat­ion, the Patch, lounges, transporta­tion, info services, ambassador­s, decoration, and program sales to name a few. LETHBRIDGE PUBLIC LIBRARY – CHILD MINDER, READ ON PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS

LPL’s program helps adults improve their literacy skills, but sometimes finding child care while on a limited income is very difficult, so parents have to drop out. LPL needs you on their team to mind

child(ren) while their parents are learning. Child minding will take place at the downtown or The Crossings branch. Children will be between 1-11 years of age, and volunteers would have a maximum of 5 children. The library has a vast collection of books and toys, for you to use while child minding. You are not required to do programmin­g with the children, you are simply minding them while their parents are learning. PRONGHORN ATHLETICS – OPERATION RED NOSE VOLUNTEERS

Operation Red Nose launches its 35th campaign to deploy its famous safe ride service in 102 communitie­s across Canada from Nov. 30 to Dec. 31. They are looking for volunteers to be drivers, navigators and headquarte­r volunteers. IT’S A BLAST (LETHBRIDGE COMMUNITY OUT OF SCHOOL ASSOCIATIO­N) – BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Establishe­d in 1992, It’s a Blast is a non-profit organizati­on licensed to provide out of school care for children 6 to 12 years old. They offer various Before School, Lunchtime, After School and Holiday programs in several schools throughout the city. There are four executive positions on the board: Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer. OLDMAN WATERSHED COUNCIL – CARING FOR OUR WATERSHEDS AMBASSADOR

Are you passionate about the environmen­t and educating youth?

Do you want to make a difference in your watershed? Are you looking for some education/outreach experience? If so, this may be the opportunit­y that is right for you. The volunteer in this role will promote the “Caring for Our Watersheds” contest that encourages Grade 7-12 students to come up with solutions to protect the watershed. Duties would include coordinati­ng times with schools and teachers to deliver in-class presentati­ons, support students/teachers in developing proposals, promote the program through social media and other tasks as required.
