Hurricanes vs. Rebels

The Lethbridge Hurricanes (25-10-2-5) welcome the Red Deer Rebels (14-23-1-3) tonight at 7:00pm at the ENMAX Centre. Tonight will be the fifth of six meetings on the season between the Hurricanes and the Rebels.

Great Run:

After a pair of wins last weekend against the Calgary Hitmen and Swift Current Broncos, the Hurricanes are on a nice run of late having earned points in seven straight games going 5-0-2-0 in that span and have not lost a game in regulation since returning from the Christmas break. Over their last 12 games, the ‘Canes have posted an 8-1-2-1 record in that span.

Former Team:

Hurricanes overage forward Brett Davis will play the team that traded him back to the ‘Canes last week for the first time. Davis spent a total of 88 games with the Rebels over parts of two seasons collecting 55 points (22g-33a) along with 52 penalty minutes.

They’re Back!:

Tonight the Hurricanes will insert both Calen Addison and Dylan Cozens back into the line-up as they return after helping Team Canada capture a gold medal at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship in the Czech Republic. The duo will be honoured prior to the game for their efforts at the WJ’s.

Head-to-Head:

The ‘Canes have posted a 3-10-0 record so far this season in four games against the Rebels as they’ve won the last three meetings by a combined 197, including an 11-goal outburst in Red Deer on November 23rd. The Hurricanes have posted an impressive 23-5-1-1 record in the last 30 regular season meetings against the Rebels dating back to February of 2015.
