MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

-

This public service feature runs each Saturday in the Lethbridge Herald.

Garfield came in as a stray in the spring of 2018. He is a very vocal cat who lets you know when he wants attention or food. Garfield is very friendly boy who loves to meet people and will happily play with any toy you bring to him. Due to his medical condition we would prefer him as a single cat but exceptions could be made depending on the situation. If you are interested in meeting Garfield, you can see him at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 16 Ave. N. or call 403-320-8991). To view other Haven pets, go to www.lethbridgehumanesociety.com and click on the Available Pets link. Also check out the Lethbridge and District Humane Society on Facebook.

Jeff is a handsome boy that is waiting patiently for a home of his own. He had a tough life on the streets and is quite nervous around other cats. He is a handsome lad and in excellent health. You can read about Jeff and other cats by visiting us at www.facebook.com/lastchance catranch or www.thelastchancecatranch.com. Thank you to everyone who supports our rescue efforts and who help homeless cats in our community.

Henry is a cat with imagination. This five-year-old grey fellow loves to pretend. You didn’t think cats pretended? Henry does! Watch how he races about the house, his tail bristling like a bottle-brush, his hackles up, his golden eyes alert. He’s chasing his quarry from one room to the next. Or maybe he’s the one being chased. But it’s all in good fun. So is fighting a string-toy like it’s a snake about to strike, or running after a ball like it’s the last mouse on Earth. Do you know what else Henry imagines? He imagines he has his own home, his own person; someone to hold him and pet him, someone to tell him he’s the best cat in the world, and the only one in that human’s heart. You see, along with being a cat of action, Henry is a softie. He loves people, and just wishes he could have one all to himself. He can see it happening, because he has imagination and he has hope. To know more about Henry, call the PAW Society at 403-328-6700 or go online at pawsociety.com. Make Henry’s imagination come true.

Marybeth came to Purrfect Endings Rescue when she was a tiny, five-weekold, feral kitten. She is now approximately two and a half years old. She is still very scared and will need a special person who has alot of patience and is willing to take things slowly. Marybeth needs the company of another cat. Hopefully, there is someone out there who will be the purrfect match for this sweet girl. Call Linda (403-3819269) or Sam (403-382-0977) of Purrfect Endings Rescue for more information about Marybeth. We have so many special-needs cats who require special food and/or medical care. Our bill is very high and we are desperate for donations to help pay it down. No amount is too small. Donations can be made directly to Green Acres Animal Hospital (403 327-8660), by etransfer: sixfurballz@telus.net, or you can also donate the proceeds from bottle recycling to us through Ability Bottle Depot South and North. Thank you so much to those individuals who have donated.

Esteban is a seven-month-old mixed breed dog who loves to hang with his brother Edwin. This shy boy is a bit unsure of things at first but is learning from his foster family just how much fun things can be. He is a handsome boy who would love a furry dog friend in his new home to help him to continue to learn all the great things out there in the big world. He is dog-friendly, cat-friendly and loves kids. Visit

www.windycityrescue.com or call 403-359-3139 for more information.
