Lethbridge Police have charged a male and female with drug and proceeds-of-crime offences after a warrant was executed at a southside hotel.

Earlier this month members of the Priority Crimes Unit initiated a short-term investigation into reported drug trafficking activity. On Monday, PCU obtained and executed a search warrant in a hotel room along the 200 block of 41 Street South. One male occupant was arrested without incident and police seized approximately 150 grams of methamphetamine, 17 grams of fentanyl, 11 grams of crack cocaine, a small quantity of psilocybin, prescription narcotics, assorted drug paraphernalia including scales and packaging, and more than $35,400 cash. The total estimated street value of the drugs is more than $13,500.

In addition, a female subject associated to the room was arrested a day later at a westside home.

Armande John Good Rider, 22, of Lethbridge, is charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, one count each of possession of a controlled substance, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000 and four counts of failing to comply with release order conditions. Good Rider was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in court today.

Thi Hai Binh Nguyen, 24, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000. Nguyen is scheduled to appear in court July 28.

Meanwhile, Lethbridge Police were continuing to investigate following the execution of a search warrant at a northside home early Wednesday morning.

At approximately 6 a.m. the Crime Suppression Team, with assistance from the Tactical Team, executed a search warrant at a home along the 1700 block of St. Edward Boulevard North. Police secured the residence and said in a release that there is no risk to neighbours or the public.
