MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

Alister is a handsome devil who came to the Humane Society this spring. He has settled into the cat room, but does take a little while to get comfortable in new situations. Alister is selective about choosing friends, too. He is fine with the other cats, but likes some better than others. He likes people and attention, but he needs to get to know you a bit first. Alister is neutered and has all of his shots and is looking for his forever home. He’d like a home where the people will be patient while he checks things out and settles in. If you are interested in meeting Alister, you can see him at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 16 Ave. N. or call 403-320-8991). To view other Haven pets, go to www.lethbridgehumanesociety.com and click on the Available Pets link. Also check out the Lethbridge and District Humane Society on Facebook.

If you’re having “one of those days,” you should meet Spottie. Why? Because Spottie is “one of those cats. This grey-and-white 11year-old knows how to make everything better. He’s the sort who will let you know he’s happy to see you, melting into your arms when you hold him, and cuddling with you when you sit down. He’s an easygoing mancat who enjoys his playtime but doesn’t bounce about with exuberance. When you invite friends over, Spottie won’t become nervous or defensive; he welcomes your guests — your friends are his friends. And when the day ends — already better because of Spottie — he’ll want to stay with you through the night, sharing a bit of your bed until morning. Are you ready to feel better? Then meet Spottie! You can call the PAW Society at 403-328-6700 or read more about him at pawsociety.com. You’ll start looking forward to “those days,” with Spottie waiting to make them better.

Nelson is approximately 10 years old. He came to us from Coaldale suffering from a horrendous, chemical-type, wound on his neck. As a result his head bobs and his balance is sometimes unstable. He has had entropion surgery on both eyes and one eye required surgery four times. Occasionally he requires eye medication. Nelson is a very sweet boy. He is very vocal and almost sounds like a sheep or a goat when he meows. He gets along well with most cats but he would do fine as an only pet. Call Linda (403-381-9269) or Sam (403 892-0977) of Purrfect Endings Rescue for more information about Nelson. We are also on Facebook. We need to pay off our bill at Green Acres Animal Hospital and are in desperate need of donations. No amount is too small. Thank you so much to those individuals who have donated. We also have an account at Ability Bottle Recycling if you would like to donate the proceeds from your bottles.

Beanie and her growing-up kitten Lima are looking for a home together. Found living in an old car near Cardston, with Coco and Pinto who are now both adopted together, they have been in foster care for several months and are fully vetted. You can read more about them by visiting www.thelastchancecatranch.com and www.facebook.com/lastchancecatranchlethbridge. Thank you to everyone who donated to our bottle drive earlier this month. All revenue goes directly to the care of the cats in rescue. Thank you to everyone who supports what we do and to those who help homeless cats on their own.

Esteban is a seven-month-old mixed breed dog who loves to hang with his brother Edwin. This shy boy is a bit unsure of things at first but is learning from his foster family just how much fun things can be. He is a handsome boy who would love a furry dog friend in his new home to help him to continue to learn all the great things out there in the big world. He is dogfriendly, cat-friendly and loves kids. Visit www.windycityrescue.com or call 403-359-3139 for more information.
