MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

“You know what that boy needs?” Do you remember when the grandparents would say that? Well, we know what Rebus needs. This young mancat, black with a bit of white on his chest, and just past his first birthday, needs a home. Oh, he has a loving and safe fosterhome, and he is making progress there. Rebus came from a feral colony when he was five months old. He learned to live indoors and trust people, but now he needs to take the next step. He rubs up against his person's legs — especially at mealtimes! — and is almost ready for some loving. He would do well with another playful cat or two, someone to show him how to handle humans right, or by himself, where he can have all his family’s attention. He’s playful and active, sometimes at night and always during the day, and at the peak of health. “Do you know what that boy needs?” Yes, we do! To learn more about Rebus, call the PAW Society at 403328-6700, or send an inquiry at pawsociety.com. What Rebus needs is you!

Slade is a handsome tuxedo boy who loves attention! He came to the Humane Society in the early months of 2018. His gorgeous coat will require regular brushing but he does enjoy the attention. Slade prefers female cats over male cats but really prefers people above all. If you are interested in meeting Slade, you can see him at the Lethbridge Humane Society (2920 16 Ave. N. or call 403-320-8991). To view other Haven pets, go to www.lethbridgehumanesociety.com and click on the Available Pets link. Also check out the Lethbridge and District Humane Society on Facebook.

Nelson is approximately 10 years old. He came to us from Coaldale suffering from a horrendous, chemical type, wound on his neck. As a result his head bobs and his balance is sometimes unstable. He has had entropion surgery on both eyes and one eye required surgery four times. Occasionally he requires eye medication. Nelson is a very sweet boy. He gets along well with most cats but would do fine as an only pet. Call Linda (403-381-9269) or Sam (403-382-0977) of Purrfect Endings Rescue for more information about Nelson. We are also on Facebook. We are teaming up with Archie’s Angels Rabbit Rescue for an online auction to be held from July 31 to Aug. 2. We are collecting new and gently used items. No donation is too small. The funds raised will go towards our huge bill at Green Acres Animal Hospital as well as a full mouth extraction desperately needed by Stella Luna, our blind kitty. Thank you so much to those individuals who have donated. We also have an account at Ability Bottle Recycling if you would like to donate the proceeds from your bottles.

The Last Chance Cat Ranch has recently taken in a few serious medical-needs cats and orphaned kittens. Aside from that we have many wonderful adult cats that are patiently waiting for their homes. You can read more about them by visiting www.thelastchancecatranch.com and

www.facebook.com/lastchancecatranch. Thank you to everyone who supports what we do. Our monthly bottle drive is today, due to the holiday for Canada Day. If you have returnables, please message us on Facebook with your address and phone number so that we can add you to the list for pickup. Our messages are private and not available to the public. Jack is waiting, thinking this might be the perfect time for someone to meet him and take him home. He is a happy and healthy boy, approximately eight months old and fully vetted. He would do well with another cat and possibly even a canine companion. If you are interested please go to our website and fill in an application.

Esteban is a seven-month-old mixed breed dog who loves to hang with his brother Edwin. This shy boy is a bit unsure of things at first but is learning from his foster family just how much fun things can be. He is a handsome boy who would love a furry dog friend in his new home to help him to continue to learn all the great things out there in the big world. He is dog-friendly, catfriendly and loves kids. Visit www.windycityrescue.com or call 403-359-3139 for more information.
