Virtual activities highlight U of L Fall Convocation

-

The University of Lethbridge will present a week of online activities celebrating the Fall 2020 graduating class.

Convocation has shifted online and, much like the spring celebration, Fall 2020 Convocation will pay tribute to the excellence and resilience of this outstanding group of graduates, the U of L said in a news release.

A total of 211 graduates will be recognized throughout the week, beginning with a social media campaign celebrating the arrival and opening of their individual convocation boxes. Inside the box, graduates will find a cap and tassel, their diploma, a commemorative program, an alumni pin, an Indigenous stole for Indigenous students, and honour cords for those who are graduating with distinction or great distinction. Students are encouraged to share their boxopening experience, don their caps and take photos or videos of themselves and post it online using #ulethgrad2020 and #ulethalumni.

A special convocation video, graduating student features, faculty award announcements, community well wishes and more will all be featured throughout the week.

As in the spring, this fall’s convocating students are invited to attend any in-person ceremony the university may hold over the next three years.
