Halloween Charity Run to benefit Lethbridge Food Bank

The Halloween Charity Run in the Park is set for Saturday at Henderson Lake, with all net proceeds being donated to the Lethbridge Food Bank.

The five-kilometre timed run will begin at 9:30 a.m.

Halloween Charity Run in the Park is a fun and safe way to participat­e in an event. Participan­ts are urged to wear costumes, enjoy the fresh air and support the Lethbridge Food Bank.

Participan­ts can register at www.racepro.ca/halloweenr­un/. The online registrati­on fee is $25 (plus processing fee of $1.50). Registrati­ons close 8 p.m. today and is limited to 90 runners.

The starting point for the race is adjacent to the Kinsmen Picnic Shelter at Henderson Lake Park with run kit pickup available from 8:30 to 9:20 a.m. on Saturday at the sign-in desk adjacent to Kinsmen Picnic Shelter. Please do not arrive before 8:30 a.m.

There will be prizes for the fastest female and male runners, age group category as well as best costume prizes.

Saturday’s outdoor event will comply with all Alberta Health Services COVID-19 protocols for a running event. All runners must do everything possible to maintain at least six feet of physical distance at all times between each other (before the start, during the run and after they cross the finish line).

All runners must wear a mask during all phases of the event, except for the actual run portion (from start line release to finish line) where the wearing of a mask is optional.
