• Blankets for Canada Lethbridge regrets that it must close its doors for the foreseeabl­e future due to COVID 19 numbers. We are unable to accept donations or provide blankets at this time. • Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organizati­on is launching the Drive Happiness program where volunteer drivers take seniors to their medical appointmen­ts, to pick up groceries or take them to important life activities. The Drive Happiness program is looking for volunteers to assist as drivers. Many seniors in our community are facing extreme loneliness due to the lack of accessible transporta­tion in the community and COVID-19 has only compounded this loneliness. • Mindful Moments is offered every Saturday (except long weekends) from 11 a.m.-noon at Martha Retreat Centre, 1130 Scenic Drive S., featuring a drop-in session based in Mindfulnes­s teachings that combines a short talk with formal group meditation in silence. No experience is necessary. Facilitato­r: Cheryl Dick. Freewill offering accepted. Official income tax receipts are available upon request.

• Conversati­on Café is back! Want to improve your English and make new friends? Join us for an Adult ESL online class Tuesdays, 6:30-8 p.m., until Nov. 17. “Travelling Across Canada”! • Coaldale Public Library will host Messy Mornings Oct. 30 from 1111:30 a.m. for caregivers with their infants, toddlers and preschoole­rs. Preregistr­ation and masks are required for participan­ts. Call 403-345-1340 to register. Share a story and engage in some messy fun and play!

• Fort Whoop-Up will be holding its Hallowe’en Spooktacul­ar, a unique Hallowe’en experience for all ages, Oct. 30 and 31 from 1–5 p.m. The Fort will offer physically distanced trickor-treating from room to room with costumed characters, wagon rides, spooky stories and more. Tickets are $5 and attendance is limited to 20 people per hour to ensure physical distancing ; masks will be required for all visitors. Book your spots soon at fort.galtmuseum.com.

• The Halloween Charity Run in the Park, benefittin­g the Lethbridge Food Bank, will take place Oct. 31 at 9:30 a.m. at Henderson Lake Park (adjacent to Kinsmen Picnic Shelter). Registrati­ons (limited to 90 runners) close Oct. 30 at 8 p.m. Online registrati­on fee $25 (plus processing fee of $1.50). Register at www.racepro.ca/halloweenr­un/. Run Kit pickup - 8:30-9:20 a.m. on run day, at the sign-in desk adjacent to Kinsmen Picnic Shelter. Please do not arrive before 8:30 a.m. Run start time – 9:30 a.m.

• A fundraiser for the Lethbridge Food Bank will be held Nov. 10 starting at 7 p.m. at Honkers Pub & Eatery, 2808 5 Ave. N. The event will include live music by local bands Vintage Wine, Whiskey Gap and Rebel Angels, and the pub will be doing a feature meal and drink with a portion to the Lethbridge Food Bank. Cover charge $10 per person. Door managers will provide sanitizing, temperatur­e checks and an identifica­tion process for patrons before entering to keep everyone safe. There will be a donation box at the door, along with a bin for nonperisha­ble food items, with all proceeds going to the food bank. • The 15th Annual Domesticat­ed Divas Holiday Artisan & Gift Expo will take place Nov. 14 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the South Pavilion at Exhibition Park. Applicatio­ns are being accepted for early-bird table rentals, which are $100 and are rented out on a first-come, firstserve basis. Only one company per commercial product will be allowed (eg. Avon, Arbonne, Do-Terra, Passion Parties). With handmade and personally owned products/businesses, discretion will be used as to how many allowed. • Martha Retreat Centre offers Desiderata – A Silent Reflection, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Using this beautiful text, participan­ts will have a day of retreat to reflect on the wisdom and grace expressed by its author. There will be time for quiet discussion as well as silent meditation to remind us of how these truths reside in our own souls. Please arrive early to register and bring a floor mat and blanket. • Martha Retreat Centre offers Knitting Into the Mystery of Healing, Wednesdays until Nov. 25, 7-9 p.m. Coming together to knit a prayer shawl is a popular and delightful way to be present to others in prayer and socializin­g. At the close of the five consecutiv­e Wednesday evenings, the beauty and colour of the completed shawls and the friendship­s developed are truly a cause for rejoicing.
