• Coaldale United Church Thrift Shop (2022 18 St.) is open each Thursday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Our space has been re-arranged to support social distancing. Sanitizing hands is required, and wearing a mask (or other mouth and nose cover) is strongly recommende­d. We are limiting the number of adult shoppers in the hall area to 15 at any one time. For now, the only children allowed will be those in carriers or strollers. Most adult and youth clothing at $2, children’s clothing at $1 and baby at 50 cents. Cash only.

• Barons United Church Thrift Shop, at 113 Main St., Barons, is open Thursdays from 12:30-4:30 p.m. and the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Check out the great deals. • Lethbridge Public Library presents The Word On The Street Fall Reading Series featuring Jeff Rubin Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. online via Zoom. Rubin, an economist and author, will be speaking about his newest book, “The Expendable­s: How the Middle Class Got Screwed by Globalizat­ion,” in an online author interview. • The 15th Annual Domesticat­ed Divas Holiday Artisan & Gift Expo will take place Nov. 14 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at the South Pavilion at Exhibition Park. Only one company per commercial product will be allowed (eg. Avon, Arbonne, Do-Terra, Passion Parties). • Martha Retreat Centre offers Desiderata – A Silent Reflection, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Using this beautiful text, participan­ts will have a day of retreat to reflect on the wisdom and grace expressed by its author. There will be time for quiet discussion as well as silent meditation to remind us of how these truths reside in our own souls. Please arrive early to register and bring a floor mat and blanket. • Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre will host guest speaker presentati­ons via Zoom Nov. 19 and 20. Nov. 19 at 9:30 a.m., Gloria Pasmeny will talk about “Seniors Mental Health and Addictions,” the effects, coping techniques, where to go to for help, etc. Nov. 20 at 9:30 a.m., Lorri Penner and Jody Johnson where we will talk about “Downsizing,” skills to do so, what emotions come with this and many more.
