• Coaldale United Church Thrift Shop (2022 18 St.) is open each Thursday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m., with the exception of being closed Dec. 24 and Dec. 31. Social distancing, sanitizing hands, and wearing a mask or face shield are required. Limit of 15 shoppers in the hall at one time. For now, the only children allowed will be those in carriers or strollers. Most adult and youth clothing at $2, children’s clothing at $1 and baby at 50 cents. Household miscellaneous at reasonable prices. Cash only.

• Barons United Church Thrift Shop , at 113 Main St., Barons, is open, with opening days depending on health guidelines during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mondays Nov. 16-Dec. 28, 4:30-7:30 and every Saturday from Nov. 28-Dec. 19 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Closed Thursdays Dec. 24 and 31. Check out the great deals. • Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization will present a Curbside Pick-Up Lunch, “Cabbage Roll Casserole Special,” Dec. 31, featuring cabbage roll casserole, potatoes, veggies and dessert for $10. Scheduled pick-up time between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the northeast door of LSCO (closest to the Administration Office), 500 11 St. S. Must pre-order no later than 3 p.m. the day

• The 17th annual Year-End Bell Ringing at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden, which normally takes place on Dec. 31 at 11 p.m., has been cancelled for this year. The event is organized by the Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta.

• Martha Retreat Centre will offer Six Degrees of Meditation Wednesdays from Jan. 13-Feb. 24, 7-8:30 p.m. This sixweek program explores the six degrees of meditation. The course will explore the topics of Leadership, Resilience, Present Moment, Courage, Creativity and Gratitude and how they all connect back to meditation and mindfulness. Exploring the six degrees of meditation and the whispers of insight Meditation offers. Meditation is the acquaintance link to awareness and insight. No study on Feb. 3. Facilitator: Hailey Pinksen. • Lethbridge Public Library’s Read On Adult Literacy and Learning needs adult volunteers (18+) to tutor adult students.
