• The Ladies Auxiliary to the Royal Canadian Legion would like to inform members that there will be no auxiliary activities until the COVID-19 situation is under control.
• Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization is launching the Drive Happiness program where volunteer drivers take seniors to their medical appointments, to pick up groceries or take them to important life activities. The Drive Happiness program is looking for volunteers to assist as drivers. Many seniors in our community are facing extreme loneliness due to the lack of accessible transportation in the community and COVID-19 has only compounded this loneliness. • Coulee Commentators Toastmaster Club meets Mondays at 7-8:30 p.m. online via Zoom (until further notice). • Coaldale United Church Thrift Shop (2022 18 St.) is open each Thursday from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Social distancing, sanitizing hands, and wearing a mask or face shield are required. Limit of 15 shoppers in the hall at one time. For now, the only children allowed will be those in carriers or strollers. Most adult and youth clothing at $2, children’s clothing at $1 and baby at 50 cents. Household miscellaneous at reasonable prices. Cash only.
• Barons United Church Thrift Shop, at 113 Main St., Barons, is open Thursdays and Saturdays during the COVID-19 pandemic. Check out the great deals. Because of the shop’s small size, wearing a mask is mandatory. Clean, gently used donations are greatly appreciated. Hours are 12:30-4:30 p.m Thursdays and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturdays. • Martha Retreat Centre will offer Six Degrees of Meditation Wednesdays from Jan. 13-Feb. 24 , 78:30 p.m. This six-week program explores the six degrees of meditation. The course will explore the topics of Leadership, Resilience, Present Moment, Courage, Creativity and Gratitude and how they all connect back to meditation and mindfulness. Exploring the six degrees of meditation and the whispers of insight Meditation offers. Meditation is the acquaintance link to awareness and insight. No study on Feb. 3. Facilitator: Hailey Pinksen. • Martha Retreat Centre will offer Enhancing Your Spiritual Intelligence (Possibly offered virtually – check our website at www.martharetreatcentre.ca) Tuesday, Jan. 26, 7-9 p.m. In these times of disruption, upheaval, and brokenness people are looking for deeper answers and profound ways to navigate change and influence their personal, social and global world for the better. Although we have been in disruptive times before, society continues to use old patterns that are not working. • The Probus Club of Lethbridge will meet Jan. 20 using Zoom technology. Our first speaker for the New Year will be Brian Hancock, Publisher of the Lethbridge Herald. He became publisher in 2014 after coming up the ranks. His topic is “The difficulties facing all media and their possible solutions.” He welcomes public input and looks forward to the Q and A. • Italian Canadian Club is hosting ‘Pickup an Italian Fridays, crive-thru curbside pickup with pre-pay by Jan. 27 and pickup Friday, Jan. 29 between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The menus is $18 and everything is hot and ready.
