Kenney needs to move on

-

Editor:

So Premier Jason Trump, sorry, Jason Kenney, wants sanctions over President

Biden’s cancellation of the Keystone XL Pipeline.

The premier must have been aware of the fact that Biden was going to cancel it, he has been saying it all through the election campaign, and he was part of the Obama administration that cancelled it.

So nothing new there, then he goes on and puts the Alberta people on the hook for billions of dollars for a pipeline that was never going to get built.

Mr Kenney, it’s about time you get your head out of the oil sand and acknowledge the fact that the USA is under no obligation to buy our oil and they can do whatever they want and there is nothing you or anyone else can do about it. The only reason Trump approved it is the fact that Obama disapproved of it.

If the premier wants to pick a fight about pipelines he should start with Quebec and the Federal Government, although good luck with that as long as Mr. dress up is in charge in Ottawa.

And finally Mr. Kenney, you must be aware of the fact that the world is moving away from fossil fuels, car manufacturers are investing billions and billions of dollars to get electric vehicles to market. So may I suggest that you and your government look at different ways to keep the Alberta economy going, it’s time to plan and move on, Mr. Kenney!

Sure we’ll probably be using oil for another 50 years or more, but not to the extent we are now and there will be oil left in the ground as the world moves on to other forms of energy, after all the human race did not get out of the stone age because we ran out of stones.
