These storied franchises have met a record 12 times in NBA Finals, and with both teams at or near the top of their respective conference­s, expectatio­ns for a 13th are not unrealisti­c.

Adapted from a book of the same title by Daniel Kehlmann, David Koepp’s 2020 psychologi­cal horror thriller charts the turbulent relationsh­ip between retired banker Theo Conroy (Kevin Bacon) and his younger wife, Susanna (Amanda Seyfried), an actress. After the couple travel to Wales for a vacation, they discover the house they have booked seems “off” somehow, and they both have terrible nightmares there. Even more upsetting, they eventually learn neither of them booked that residence, each having assumed the other one did it.

Clint Eastwood continued to demonstrat­e his versatilit­y as a director with this 2011 portrait of FBI icon Hoover, but the film really belongs to title star Leonardo DiCaprio, giving a smart and measured performanc­e that depicts the lawman’s quirks as well as his profession­al dedication. Judi Dench also impresses as his mother in a cast that includes Naomi Watts, Josh Lucas, Armie Hammer, Dermot Mulroney and Jeffrey Donovan.

Kate (Jen Lilley) is a committed New Yorker who never sees any need to leave Manhattan, until her job requires her to travel to Canada to do a story. Much to her dismay, once she arrives she finds herself sorely tested by an extended tour of the great outdoors, despite the charms of the adventurou­s local (Chris McNally) who is serving as her tour guide.
