The Safe Haven Women’s Shelter Society is striving to end the cycle of abuse through the delivery of inclusive, nonjudgmental support services to individuals, families and communities. Safe Haven Women’s Shelter is looking for volunteers to work at Winner’s Bingo events. No training is required, and it is lots of fun! Bring your friends or family to come volunteer with you! Stitch It Forward Society of Lethbridge is a non-profit organization that works together with a great group of volunteers to sew, knit, crochet, and create items that groups and organizations need. They are looking for volunteers to make slippers of all sizes to be delivered to Ronald McDonald’s House in the area, adult masks that are form fitting and crochet knit or quilt twin sizes. BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS LETHBRIDGE & DISTRICT – GO GIRLS MENTOR VOLUNTEERS
Big Brothers Big Sisters is looking for volunteers to facilitate a digital support group for middle school females, specific to covid-19 related challenges. The group runs for seven weeks, once a week for approximately one hour. You will be provided with an outline of topics and resources to chat about and fun online engagement activities to do together. There is the flexibility to bring your own ideas as well. Group sizes can range from 5-10 youth participants but this can be decided to your preference. Sessions may include topics around internet safety, isolation and loneliness, self-care and mental health, mindfulness and family dynamics, and youthdirected themes. CAREER TRANSITION - EPIC CAREER FAIR VOLUNTEERS
The mandate of Career Transitions is twofold. First, they inspire our emerging workforce by introducing them to the wide range of career pathways that are available to them and second, they support our business and industry partners to build a future talent pipeline. Everything they do facilitates quality interactions and hands-on opportunities to explore. Career Transitions is hosting an interactive career fair for up to 720 students from all across SW Alberta on April 21, 2021. They are looking for numerous volunteers in a wide variety for a variety of tasks including set up on April 20, 2021.
