Four charged as RCMP recover stolen vehicles, seize weapons and drugs

On Wednesday, members of the Southern Alberta District RCMP Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU) located a stolen Ford Ranger and a stolen Ford Focus in Coalhurst - both displaying stolen licence plates.

SAD CRU, with the assistance of Coaldale RCMP, arrested four individual­s.

Samuel Shawn Fralick, 24, of no fixed address, was arrested on six outstandin­g warrants and was charged with possession of stolen property and failure to comply with a release order.

Following a judicial hearing, Fralick was remanded into custody. His next scheduled court appearance is in Lethbridge provincial court on Oct. 27.

Carter Dylan Rains, 29, of Lethbridge, Alta. was charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, two counts of possession for the purpose of traffickin­g, and operation of motor vehicle while prohibited.

Following a judicial hearing, Rains was released from custody to appear in Lethbridge provincial court Dec. 1.

A 29-year-old female from Coleman, Alta. was charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, and a 24-year-old male of no fixed address was charged with two counts of possession of stolen property, failure to comply with a release order possession of a prohibited weapon, and failure to comply with a prohibited weapon order.

The 24-year old male and 29-year-old female were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Lethbridge provincial court on Dec. 1. The names of the male and female cannot be released at this time as the informatio­n has not yet been sworn before the court.

As a result of the investigat­ion, police seized a number of weapons, a quantity of methamphet­amine, cannabis and fentanyl, as well as a truck stolen from Coleman, a car and licence plate stolen from Coalhurst and a licence plate stolen from Nanton were recovered. A black generator believed to be stolen and a number of jerry cans were also recovered.
