In light of current provincial public health restrictio­ns the Lethbridge Herald encourages organizati­ons listed below to email communityc­alendar@lethbridge­herald.com with any updated scheduling and event informatio­n. Residents are also encouraged to reach out to organizati­ons before planning to attend any in-person events, as many will have been cancelled or moved on-line.

• Nord-Bridge Seniors Centre Monday Jam Sessions 1904 - 13 Ave. N. open to anyone in the community ($2 charge for non-members), listen to music and meet new people, 9:30-noon excluding holidays. Masks and proof of vaccinatio­n required. Call 403-329-3222 for more info.

• Tom Price and band perform every Saturday at 3 p.m. on Tom’s driveway weather permitting - at 6 Notre Dame Road West. Everyone is invited to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music.

• The Lethbridge Military Museum at the Vimy Ridge Armoury, Lethbridge Airport (337 Stubb Ross Road) is open to the public each Wednesday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. Special arrangemen­ts for other times/ days can be made by calling 403-892-6531. There is no cost for admittance. Wearing a mask is required.

• Coaldale Seniors’ Advisory Committee and Silver Linings are raising funds for AdoptA-Bag. This Christmas warm a senior’s heart by providing small items or a cash donation. Our goal is to match last year by providing 300 seniors with Christmas gift bags. Challenge your class, your church or your office to Adopt-A-Bag. Each bag will have a value of $20.00. Donations of $20.00 or more will be eligible for a tax receipt. Contact Taralynn Craig for donation ideas at 403-715-6593. • Exploring Buddhism - (Buddhist Temple of Southern Alberta, 470-40 Street S. Lethbridge) Saturdays, at 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Interested in learning about Jodo Shinshu Buddhism? The sessions are an open and free discussion in a relaxed atmosphere. Whether you are new to Buddhism or a longtime practition­er, you are welcome to join us in person, for our weekly discussion­s at the temple boardroom. This is open to the public and free of charge. • Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organizati­on is launching the Drive Happiness program where volunteer drivers take seniors to their medical appointmen­ts, to pick up groceries or take them to important life activities. The Drive Happiness program is looking for volunteers to assist as drivers. Many seniors in our community are facing extreme loneliness due to the lack of accessible transporta­tion in the community and COVID-19 has only compounded this loneliness. • Coulee Commentato­rs Toastmaste­r Club meets Mondays at 7-8:30 p.m. online via Zoom (until further notice). Guests are always welcome to check out how Toastmaste­rs can help them be better communicat­ors and leaders and how use the new technology.
