ROASTS AND TOASTS

-

TOAST: To Tom Yeoman’s Letter to the Editor published in this newspaper on April 12! How refreshing to read another point of view without the screaming and yelling! Finally, the voice of reason, sanity and void of subjective victimhood! Far too much attention and frankly inaccurate information has been spewing from those individuals with agendas that just do not fit the facts! TOAST: To the amazing coverage for the Green Shirt Day Feature in Saturday, April 6th’s Lethbridge Herald. I was so extremely impressed with the lovely representation the Lethbridge Herald did. Keep up the great work! TOAST: To Jacob M. Van Zyl’s weekly column Apr 12th on Limited Freedom. In today’s society, that applies to such causes as transgender issues and harming children with the notion you can become whatever you wish. There are only two genders - male and female. No amount of surgery and hormones will change that body inwardly. It may be a Biblical truth but certainly is a biological truth. ROAST: Maybe it’s time to consider a recall on Smith and the UCP, given she is now attempting to implement those issues the UCP refused to publicly campaign on during the last election. TOAST: Right on with Al Beeber’s opening sentences last Friday. I thought it was just a Canadian belly-aching symptom. He is right about how people like to force-feed another on their beliefs. Just believe the good and throw away the bad. Heaven and Hell is a good guideline to live one’s life, though; and faith is important to anyone to hold to move on with life. It made a person strong, kind, with gratitude and happy. ROAST: To the guy at the northside fast food place parked in the handicapped parking without the sticker. Proudly wearing his education workers CUPE T-shirt while he did it. Not great advertising for you or your cause. TOAST: To everyone who believes in the word of Jesus Christ, the Saviour. We need to get closer to God again and the only way to do it is by bringing Him back into the schools and into our homes. TOAST: To our family doctors. Unable to get an appointment with my family doctor for a week, I opted for their Friday walk-in clinic. Within two hours, I was diagnosed, prescribed treatment, filled prescriptions and relief within hours of a weeklong incredibly soar throat. Clearly a minor issue but the value of seeing a family physician cannot be understated. Thank you to our doctors, and let’s hope new initiatives to attract and educate more practitioner receives the priority it deserves. TOAST: To Al Beeber. Took courage to write what he did about religion. Lot of prayers being said for him since then, I bet. TOAST: To Stephen Harper for implementing the tax on pollution and to Justin Trudeau for the rebate. Got my quarterly rebate today and it was $48.00 more than April, 2023. ROAST: To Al Beeber for not believing in the word of God as written in the holy Bible. God wrote those words, using the hands of his messengers to spread his message which is truth. ROAST: To people who don’t pick up after their dogs at Henderson Lake. Disgusting. I don’t want my children stepping or sitting in that because you’re too lazy to bend over. Go to a dog park where dogs belong. That’s what they’re for. TOAST: To Bill Maher for his commentary about Canada versus the United States. Yes, the far left is the reason people have gone to the far right. We need to get balanced again because this country is out of control. Trudeau has convinced too many voters that the right is right when actually it’s really quite wrong! TOAST: To Naheed Nenshi who is actually making me believe in politicians again. So refreshing to hear someone speak about positivity and be uplifting. We need him running this province, regardless of what party he supports. I bought my first party membership because of him. TOAST: To my pharmacist on the westside for being so helpful and cheerful. Glad I switched over. TOAST: Thanks to the person who bought my order in the drive-thru! You made my day. Will definitely pay it forward. My daughter was delighted. ROAST: To everyone who said they wouldn’t voluntarily restrict water in the Herald poll. You need to be part of the solution as we go into another drought year instead of being part of the problem. Guess we’ll all know who you are when we see your green grass sticking out like a sore thumb this summer.
