MATCHING PETS WITH PEOPLE

-

This public service feature runs each Saturday in the Lethbridge Herald.

This is Shantelle! She is a very beautiful calico that came to the LCCR when she was only 9 months old and pregnant. Since having her babies she has been living her best life in a foster home whilst awaiting her forever home.

Shantelle is small but she holds her own even when the bigger cats in her foster home play rough.

She loves playing tag with her feline friends but if they’re too tuckered out she’ll happily play by herself.

She LOVES to be petted and follows her human around everywhere, especially to the bedroom where she waits on the bed for her foster mom to give her a kiss and pet her. After a minute it’s play time again. She’s not a lap cat but she is sweet and affectionate.

Shantelle is a voracious eater. Wet food is her favourite and she’ll always come running for any kind of treat.

The way to Shantelle’s heart is definitely to play with her. She will need to be adopted into a home that already has a playful cat.

If you can provide Shantelle with her forever home then please submit an application at www.thelastchancecatranch.com.

Meet the delightful Hazel, a three-year old Cavapoo on a quest to find her perfect match. Despite a mysterious past, Hazel’s heart is brimming with love, waiting to be shared with the right person or family. While she may need a little time to come out of her shell, once she does, you’ll have a loyal companion by your side for life. Hazel dreams of a tranquil haven, where the hustle and bustle of the outside world fades into serenity. She thrives in calm environments, where patient sould await, ready to earn her trust and build a lasting bond. While she gravitates towards the gentle touch of women, and prefers a kid-free zone, Hazel’s heart would warmly welcome the presence of another furry friend who shares her zest for life. If you are interested in adopting Hazel please visit www.windycitycaninerescue.com and follow the adoption process.

Julien is a year old now, we estimate, though we can’t be sure. He and his three siblings were rescued last year with their mother; all were living rough outside. But that hard start in life hasn’t kept Julien down. Neither did a urinary blockage that he suffered earlier this year. That has been cleared. Even before that was addressed, this orange boy was conscientious in his litter-box habits. He’s never let things get him down. Julien is a happy fellow, though he is also very sensitive, so a household without rambunctious tots would suit him. But he is very sociable, with people and cats; in fact, this strong, active guy would love a feline playmate. There isn’t much wrong with this optimistic and gentle soul. Contact PAW at 403-328-6700 or online at paw society.com, and find out why this cat with no downside should be by your side.

Milo & Gaya are an adorable bonded pair! Gaya is the grey girl, she is loving and sweet. Milo is the brown boy and loves Gaya more than anything. They are great with the dogs in their foster home, but the dogs are very bun savvy. They will come with 3 litter boxes, foam mats for the floor, lots of boxes that they chew on, lots of toys and wood. (Supplies and/or pen can also be added into the adoption fee.)

If you would like to apply to adopt these sweeties, head over to Archie’s Angels Rabbit Rescue website aarr.ca.
