Sometimes it is just the right time for change.

That’s exactly how Classic Loser 7 participant Celeste Coderre felt about signing up for this year’s 12-week weight loss competition.

After shying away from signing up for the past three years, Coderre says something clicked with her this year, and with plenty of positive encouragement from her husband, she decided to go for it.

“My husband has been trying to encourage me to enter for the past three years, but I think I was just closed minded,” she said. “For me, I just feel like it was time to enter - I just wasn’t feeling that great and the weight was becoming a burden at work for me and in everyday life – I just needed to get rid of some of the weight.”

Now at the half way point of the contest, Coderre is down 17 pounds, and her hard work has earned her a spot in the Final 6, and upgrade from the Wild Card status she entered the contest with. She says she has embraced the healthy lifestyle with open arms.

“I’m loving the contest so far, it’s really good,” she said. “I’m doing really well with the workouts and with changing up what I eat, so overall I’m very happy with how it’s going so far - it really is a new lifestyle, and I like it so much more,”

With 17 pounds lost Coderre says she is half way to her goal for the competition, and about 25 per cent of the way to her goal weight. She says there is no going back for her.

“I plan on keeping everything I’ve learned, and continuing to learn new things and use them in this new lifestyle,” she said. “Working with Todd (Schneider) has helped me realized that this is a lifestyle change and not just a diet, that means I am going to stay this way and keep being healthy.”

While everything is going well for her now, Coderre says she admits getting started has been the hardest part in her weight-loss journey, and can understand why others would struggle to start as well.

“The hardest part in this process was getting started for me,” she said. “Going from working all day, then being a couch potato, to moving all day and being active has been a complete 360, but I’m enjoying every minute of it – it’s become the norm for a lot of people, it’s tough to overcome.”

While she is very proud of her accomplishments, Coderre refuses to omit her husband from her successes.

“My husband is the most amazing support,” she said. “Randy has been instrumental to my success in this competition, he pulls the covers off of me at 4 a.m. and tells me ‘winners don’t stay in bed,’ – he is incredible to have for this.”

Classic Loser trainer and cofounder Todd Schneider says he is proud of Coderre, and that she is very deserving of being bumped to the Final 6. “Celeste has been incredible in this competition,” he said. “She has shown a complete commitment to this competition and her new lifestyle, and she is very deserving to being bumped up into a Final 6 spot.”

Caloric Responsibility cofounder Fabio Comana will be in the Hat this week working with the contestants and sharing his knowledge of diet and weight loss.
