Gov’t regularly gives in to minority views
I am a firm beleiver in fair play, honesty, transparency, inclusiveness and justice for all. Having said that, I feel little by little we are allowing an erosion of what we lovingly call “our democratic way of life.”
Our elected officials, in their desire to satisfy everyone, are yielding to the minority views. When a person, group, organization, province or territory that is the minority utters a concern and is treated with more power than is their due we, the majority, lose again.
We diligently go to the polls to elect our representatives who, we hope, will diligently perform their duties to protect all our citizens and not overreact to satisfy one person, group, organization or territory. It is allowing the tail to wag the dog instead of the other way around.
I do not suggest that a referendum be held to make these decisions. In the past we have lost corporal punishment, prayer in our schools and the ability to (without guilt) wish someone “Merry

We need Tigers fans to fill the building. We’re leaving too many seats open for Lethbridge fans and they’re showing they can be louder than us. That’s not good. We need support, people. If ever there was a year the Tigers could go all the way, this is it.

What is the point of having a bylaw for barking dogs when the officers won’t deal with problems when they’re reported?

One of our bosses was off sick for a week so we ended up with his boss taking control. Obviously has no respect for us workers, thinks we are all idiots. Hope our boss is back soon.

Political correctness is eroding our democratic way of life because of concern to not offend a “sensitive” person. Will we soon not be allowed to pledge allegiance to our country or leaders? Where will it end?
The Danes, Italians, Ukranians and other immigrant groups have not demanded that we change our way of life, customs or language to suit them. They willingly adapted to our ways. Some kept to their ways privately but publicly were not beligerant or demanding.
We expect our government to look after our welfare in a thoughtful, diligent manner, yet here we are with minority views dominating our society. When may we expect our government to administer fair play, honesty, justice, transparency and due diligence for all? Majority is supposed to rule, not the other way around.

To see our provincial government following our lead in feeding the hungry school students. Kudos.
At the unbridled naivete of the person who believes the carbon tax will help lower the deficit and will save the world for future generations. It does nothing to mitigate climate change and only hurts our economy and prosperity.
We have to teach judges how to be human. Just because they are ex-lawyers doesn’t give them a pass.
The prime minister of Canada promised jobs for all new refugees. Two years later, refugees are still waiting for their job.
If the off-leash problems are using too many valuable resources, then cancel the stupid idea.
With opposition parties quoting federal government not keeping promises of increasing infrastructure. What do they call all the happenings around Calgary alone? This is stuff the former government should have done when times were good in Alberta. Stop nattering.
