STRATHMORE
One man has been charged following an armed robbery at the Dairy Queen in Strathmore.
The man is alleged to have attended the restaurant on Feb. 17, armed with a firearm and demanding money. No one was physically harmed during the encounter and the man fled from the premises, and later fled from police.
He has since been identified as Austen Cole of Calgary, and has been charged with armed robbery with a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, two counts of pointing a firearm, disguising with intent and obstructing a police officer.
REDWATER
One man is dead following a motor vehicle collision just southeast of near Redwater, Alta.
The collision occurred on the morning of April 16, when a truck travelling westbound stopped and was rear-ended by a passenger van. Occupants of both vehicles were known to each other and travelling together, RCMP report.
The two occupants of the truck were not injured, with seven receiving medical treatment. One 28-year-old male passenger was transported by STARS to an Edmonton hospital, and succumbed to his injuries.
DIDSBURY
Didsbury RCMP are looking for public assistance identifying an armed robber at a gas station in Carstairs believed to be linked to other robberies in Lacombe.
The incident occurred April 15 at approximately 9 p.m. when a male suspect parked a vehicle at a fuel pump, exited wearing a disguise, approached an employee and brandished what was believed to be a firearm, proceeded inside the gas station and demanded money and merchandise. He fled the area in the vehicle with an undisclosed amount of money.
The suspect is described as being caucasian, approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7, wearing a black hoodie and hat, dark jeans, white shoes and sunglasses. The vehicle is described as a dark coloured pontiac sunfire.
The Lacombe robberies occurred on April 15 and at 11:54 a.m. 2:10 a.m.
