Bantam teams on collision course

-

It might be that the best competition for Medicine Hat’s two bantam lacrosse teams is each other.

The Sun Devils each played Claresholm’s Rockmen on Saturday, with equally onesided results. One game was a 16-0 score, with Tyler Broesky’s hat trick complimented by two-goal games from Kayden Devins, Lyndon Milnthorp, Reece Robinson and Cameron Jackle. The other game was a 23-0 score: Ty Moore scored four times, Zack McBride and Jeylen FerreiraSmeed had three each while Quinn Cannedine, Callen Prosofsky, Shawn Isberg and Zane Lehr each scored twice.

The sides haven’t played each other yet, but it’ll probably be closer in score to how this past weekend went.

Peewee

Also at the Family Leisure Centre, Medicine Hat’s peewee teams had narrow wins over Lethbridge counterparts but only one squad was able to sweep their doubleheader.

Peewee 1 beat Lethbridge 2 by a 3-2 count. Aden Nevil had two goals, Grayson Fischer the other. They then lost 6-4 to Swift Current.

Peewee 2 also got a win over Lethbride, 8-6, with Jayden Richards (three goals), Everett Liefso, Hudson Gainer, Houston Eakins and Christian Neibergall potting goals. They followed up with an 8-2 win over Swift Current, getting two goals from each of Eakins, Madden Kelly and Torrin Thickson plus singles from Richards and Carter Schnuth.

Novice

The Novice 1 team doubled up Lethbridge 6-3 before losing 7-3 to Swift Current.

Colson Wereley’s hat trick highlighted the win, with Torren Zentner, Baker Thompson and Asher Pancoast also scoring. Thompson, Wereley and Zentner had the replies against Swift Current.

Novice 2 fell 13-2 to Brooks, getting goals from Silas Swan and Brayden Streifel.
