Drayton Valley
Police are looking for three suspects following a morning attempted robbery with a firearm at Brazeau Dam Provincial Park Campground.
RCMP responded to the incident on June 28 at 8 a.m., when the victims heard a truck back into their campsite and exited their travel trailer to determine what was happening. An unknown male suspect pointed a rifle at the victims, while another unknown man attempted to attach their flat deck trailer containing two quads to the truck. A third unknown man remained in the driver seat of the truck.
When the suspects were unsuccessful in attaching the trailer to the truck, they got back into the vehicle and sped off.

Beaverlodge
An arson investigation is underway, after RCMP and fire services responded to two separately lit fires in Elmworth.
The fires occurred in the early morning of June 24, with one lit in a shed and the second in a quonset located away from a residence. A large amount of personal items were damaged during the fire. The property owner was in the home at the time and was able to evacuate safely.
The fire has been deemed suspicious in nature, and officials continue to investigate.

Waterton
RCMP are looking to return a unique, gold and diamond wedding ring recovered during an unrelated investigation. Police do not know if these rings were stolen, lost or where the owner may reside. Anyone with information about the rings, and who can identify unique characteristics about them are asked to contact the Waterton RCMP.

Wood Buffalo National Park
Fort Chipewyan RCMP were called to the banks of the Rocher River, after a local resident discovered a body approximately eight kilometres north of where the boat of four missing hunters was located.
Police were called on June 25, at approximately 7 p.m., over the body — which has only been tentatively identified at this time. An autopsy is pending in Edmonton for both this body, and the body of another deceased man who was located in the river over the last two days.
No further information is available from police at this time.

Maskwacis
A son has been charged with manslaughter after almost a year-long investigation into the death of his mother.
On July 3, Maskwacis RCMP located Sharon Ermineskin deceased in her residence on the Ermineskin First Nation. Major Crimes South RCMP took carriage of the file and after a lengthy investigation have charged Sharon’s son, Scott Ermineskin, 25, with manslaughter and indignity to human remains in relation to her death.
