Devon

RCMP are looking for public assistance to identify the person who, on Aug. 18 in the early morning, fired a gun at a stationary vehicle at a gas station in Devon.

The single round struck the frame of the gas pump, and no one was injured.

The vehicle involved is described as a blue Toyota Tundra — the man in the car drove by the stopped vehicle, pointed the firearm, and fired. He then fled.

The vehicle was later found abandoned on Highway 60 south of Devon. Police dogs were unable to track the driver, and the truck was determined to have been stolen out of Wetaskiwin.

Preliminary investigation suggests that this was not a random incident. Several RCMP units are a part of the investigation, including the Wetaskiwin General Investigation Section, Forensic Identification Section and Edmonton RCMP Serious Crimes Branch.
