Yankees hit four home runs in landslide win over Orioles
BALTIMORE Aaron Judge and Chase Headley hit two-run homers, Starlin Castro and Todd Frazier added solo shots and the New York Yankees beat the Baltimore Orioles 9-1 Thursday for their first series win at Camden Yards in four years.
Didi Gregorius had three hits and scored twice for the Yankees, who closed within 3 1/2 games of AL Eastleading Boston and fortified their grip on the top AL wild card.
Sonny Gray (9-9) gave up one unearned run and six hits in 5 2/3 innings. The right-hander is 3-4 since he was acquired by New York in a July 31 trade with Oakland.
METS 7, REDS 2
NEW YORK — Rookie Brandon Nimmo homered twice, Juan Lagares added a solo shot and the New York Mets beat the Cincinnati Reds.
New York has won three of four and ended the Reds’ threegame winning streak to open a four-game series.
Hitting in the cleanup spot, Nimmo ripped an opposite-field drive off reliever Tim Adleman in the fifth inning that touched just above the orange line on the left-field wall for a home run.
NATIONALS 4, PHILLIES 3
WASHINGTON — Trea Turner capped Washington’s three-run sixth inning with a two-run single, and the Nationals beat the Philadelphia Phillies for their fourth straight win.
Adam Lind had two hits and scored a run for Washington, and Michael A. Taylor contributed a terrific catch in centre field. Tanner Roark (12-9) allowed three runs and seven hits in six innings.
BRAVES 6, MARLINS 5
ATLANTA — Kurt Suzuki capped a two-run rally in the ninth inning when his lined single past third base drove in Freddie Freeman and lifted the Atlanta Braves over the Miami Marlins.
Miami left-hander Brad Ziegler (1-4) gave up a leadoff double to pinch-hitter Matt Adams in the ninth. Pinchrunner Nick Markakis moved to third on Ender Inciarte's groundout to first and scored easily on Ozzie Albies' double to right-centre, leaving Ziegler with the blown save.

CHICAGO — The Cleveland Indians set a franchise record with their 15th consecutive win, beating the Chicago White Sox behind another terrific outing for Corey Kluber.

PITTSBURGH — Albert Almora Jr. hit a two-run homer, Ian Happ had three hits and the Chicago Cubs rolled to a victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates.
TWINS 4, ROYALS 2
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Twins’ Jorge Polanco drove in the go-ahead runs off ailing Kansas City closer Kelvin Herrera with two outs in the ninth inning, and Minnesota rallied to beat the Royals.
