AA Hounds drop two close games over the weekend

The Bantam AA Hounds played two very close games this weekend, both resulting in a loss for the club.

They had their home opener on Friday against the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Moose. It was a close game, however, the Hounds took the 4-3 loss.

Cale Ferguson started the scoring for the Hounds in the first period while Taiga Hernandez scored in the second. Luke Renschler netted a short handed goal in the third to tie the game, however Lethbridge found their own short-handed goal late in the game to go ahead. Kaiden Morin faced 27 shots while the Hounds made 24.

On Sunday, the Hounds traveled to Strathmore to play the Wheatland Warriors. Luke Renschler opened scoring for the Hounds in the first period followed by Reece Barton before the end of the frame. Taiga Hernandez scored mid way through the second. Jack Vose scored a short handed goal in the third to bring the Hounds within a goal of the Warriors. Two empty net goals in the final minute allowed the Warriors to seal the win. Medicine Hat faced 29 shots while the Hounds dished out 34.

The Hounds play at home on Saturday at 3:45 against the Foothills Bisons and Sunday at 1:15 against the Okotoks Oilers. Both games are at the Moose.

Midget AA

The Can Pak Environmen­tal Midget AA Hounds won again Saturday, this time by a score of 7-1.

Jacob Milne racked up four points, including a hat trick, while Ethan Bouthan, Grant Forbes, Levi Schlosser and Carson Dingwall all scored for the Hounds.
