Bantam AAA Tigers split the weekend

The Bantam AAA Tigers played a pair of games this weekend, dropping one and winning one, moving to a record of 3-4-2 on the year.

In Saturday’s game, the Tigers were able to come away with a 3-2 victory on home ice against the Camrose Red Wings.

Ethan Machan opened the scoring for the Tigers 18:55 into the first, tying up the game 1-1 after the first.

At 14:21 in the second, Mason Mowat put the Tigers up by a goal, shortly before the Red Wings tied it up.

Caleb Wyrostok stayed hot, scoring the third-period game winner, assisted by Mowat and Quintin Unreiner, to give the team the win.

Brendan Olson stood tall in the crease, saving 19 of 21 shots faced.

The Tigers did not do as well Sunday, dropping the game 7-1 against the Red Deer Rebels.

Callen Prosofsky was the lone goal scorer for the Tigers.

The Tigers next game is Saturday on home ice against Okotoks.

Midget 15s

The SEAC Tigers played a pair of close games this weekend, finishing with one tie and one loss.

The team played host to the Red Deer North Star Chiefs Saturday afternoon, finishing with a 1-1 draw.

The Tigers lone goal was scored by Brady Dovichak.

Gage Reimer was solid between the pipes, stopping 40 of 41 shots faced, including a 22-save second period to secure the tie.

The Tigers then fell to the CNHA Blazers 3-2 on Sunday.

The Tigers play two games next weekend, Saturday on the road against CRAA Gold, then Sunday at home against CRAA Blue.

Pee Wee

The Pee Wee Hounds won in a big way this weekend, twice, as they played a pair of games on home ice.

Friday night verses Okotoks Oilers, the Hounds came away with a 9-2 win.

Then Saturday the Hounds faced off against the Chestermer­e Lakers. The Hounds won 14-0.

The Hounds play two games on home ice next weekend, Friday at 7 p.m. at the Moose, the Saturday at 1 p.m.

Midget AA

The Can Pak Environmen­tal Midget AA Hounds had their first loss of the season Friday night in Taber.

Aiden Gleisner scored the first goal, which was assisted by Dax Wandler. Levi Schlosser scored our second goal late in the third period to make the score 3-2. Taber finished the scoring with an empty net goal with nine seconds left to make a final score of 4-2.

Medicine Hat outshot Taber 39-30. Aidan Kruger was in net for the loss with 27 saves.

The Hounds then lost again Saturday, 6-3 at the hands of the Bow Valley Timberwolv­es.

Gleisner scored the first goal followed by a pair from Dax Wandler. Ryley Manz and Brandon Hauck) added the other assists. Bow Valley finished the scoring with an empty net goal at 1:09 to make it final.

The Midget AA Hounds are back in action again Friday when they travel to Strathmore to take on the Wheatland Braves.

Bantam

Saturday saw the Hounds take on the Foothills Bisons for a 5-3 victory. Reece Barton scored two goals while Taiga Hernandez, Evan Gebhart and Jody Rath each scored one. Austin Derzaph and Matthew MacPherson each had two assists in the game. Bodee Weiss faced 32 shots for the victory.

The Hounds faced the first place Okotoks Oilers on Sunday losing 5-1. Tyler Broesky scored the lone Hounds goal on a power play.

The Hounds play their next game on Saturday at 3:45 p.m. in the Moose against the Bow Valley Timberwolv­es. The Hounds will be hosting a food drive for the Food Bank and is asking spectators to bring donations.
