Didsbury

Didsbury RCMP are appealing for the return of priceless family heirlooms—including an urn containing ashes— taken during a break in on Oct. 12.

Police report that on that day, between 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) forced entry to a home on Range Road 35 in the dog-pound area west of Didsbury. Once inside, numerous items were stolen including family heirlooms; two gold rings and a small red wooden urn which contained the ashes of the home owner's deceased husband. Also stolen was a black 2001 Chrevrolet S10 truck with Alberta License Plate BSR2779 which is still outstandin­g.

Police believe the person who took the urn did not know what it was.

Anyone with informatio­n about the missing items or the crime are asked to contact Didsbury RCMP.

Strathcona

Two people have been arrested following multiple carjacking­s where shots were fired, on Oct. 12.

On that date, at 12:30 a.m., RCMP were notified by the Edmonton Police Service that they were following a black Ford Fusion that had been involved in an armed carjacking in Edmonton. At the same time, RCMP received a complaint of shots fired at the Holiday Inn Express on Broadmoor Blvd. A man had been shot in the shoulder and neck area, and was transporte­d to hospital for non-life threatenin­g injuries.

Then at 12:35 a.m., the vehicle EPS were tracking was involved in another armed carjacking with a shotgun at a gas station. Another vehicle was stolen, while the black Ford Fusion was later found engulfed in flames elsewhere. The Chrysler 300 was seen traveling at a high rate of speed through the Vegreville area, and later located in Saskatchew­an.

Police say no accurate descriptio­ns of those involved are available, although they believe the two suspects are in Saskatchew­an, and are armed and dangerous.

Calmar

Leduc RCMP are investigat­ing after an evening armed robbery at a gas station on Oct. 15.

According to witnesses, three male suspects entered the business armed with a shotgun, handgun and baton. The suspects fled after taking money and liquor, leaving in a dirty vehicle driven by a female suspect.

The vehicle involved is believed to be a green Subaru Forester, Alberta licence plate 83M748, which was stolen out of Westlock, Alberta on October 10, 2017. Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for this vehicle, report any sightings to police and not to approach the vehicle or the occupants.

Leslievill­e

Rocky Mountain House RCMP responded on Oct. 14 at 4 p.m. to an armed robbery at the Leslievill­e Hotel. Police report that two men entered the hotel, one armed with a sawed off long barrelled firearm and the other with a knife. The culprits demanded money from one of the employees. Both fled the hotel with an undisclose­d amount of cash, departing in a silver Dodge Ram truck.

This vehicle was being driven by another man who was waiting outside the hotel durin the robbery. No one was physically injured during the incident.

Police ask that anyone with informatio­n about the robbery to contact them.

Wetaskiwin

Police are looking for two men who committed armed robbery during the evening of Oct. 14 at the By The Way Liquor Store in Millet, Alta. Police say a man and woman entered the store, the man brandished a handgun, demanding money from staff. The employee complied, and the two suspects departed with an undisclose­d amount of money and liquor.

The pair left westbound on Highway 616 in a light green colored Station Wagon/SUV similar to a Ford Focus. The staff member was not injured.

The male suspect is described as native 5’10” Large build, wearing sunglasses, black jacket and jeans and a grey with red brim Chicago Bulls hat. The woman is described as native wearing all black with a red Toronto Raptors hat. Anyone with informatio­n is asked to contact police.
