Mission ringette squad battles to pair of ties

The Medicine Hat Mission under-16 ringette team settled for a pair of ties against the Bow Valley Royals this weekend — 6-6 and 5-5.

Medicine Hat’s Cass Stock logged five goals over the two games, including a hat trick in the 6-6 stalemate.

“A couple of great ringette games,” Mission head coach Marty Robinson said in an email. “The speed that our team is display- ing makes us a hard team to play against.”

Jada Harper closed out the weekend with three goals, while Ashlyn Seale, Meagan Taylor and Stephanie Stroh all had individual markers.

Tropics improve to 11-0

The Medicine Hat Tropics under-14 ringette team extended their undefeated streak to 11 straight games to start the season with a pair of wins over the Cochrane Rockies on home ice this weekend.

Marin Sinclair kicked off the weekend with a four-goal performanc­e in her team’s 7-4 win over the Rockies, while Kylie Kallenberg­er scored all three of Medicine Hat’s markers to complete the sweep in a 3-1 victory.

Kallenberg­er, Jaida Wallis and Preslee Starner also scored in the 7-4 win.

Goaltender Devyn Amundson locked up the 3-1 win with a 27-save performanc­e.

Rogue remain undefeated

The Medicine Hat Rogue under-14 squad improved to 6-0 on the season with a pair of victories this weekend, 6-4 over the Indus Lightning and 6-5 over the Bowview Velocity.

Jaelyn Siewert led the Rogue past the Lightning with a hat trick, while Jessica Heidel added a pair and Jena Harty added an individual marker.

Joren Gramlich stepped up with a hat trick in Medicine Hat’s win over the Velocity — with her third goal breaking a 55 tie with 43 seconds left in regulation. Hailey Hudson added two goals in the win, while Hailey Sanders rounded out the scoring.

Rage blow out Sing

The Medicine Hat Rage under-12 team left Rolling Hills with a rousing victory on Saturday.

While they locked up a 10-1 win on the road, it was the defence that stood out in the victory. Alexis Unreiner, Rileigh Tabor, Rylin Lehr and Pacie Harper led the defence in a dominant performanc­e while goaltender Linsey Bechtold held a shutout into the final minute of the game.

Fireblades win a pair

The Medicine Hat Fireblades under-10 squad strung together a pair of victories on the road this weekend.

Alyssa Guy scored a hat trick to lead the Fireblades to an 8-0 win over the Strathmore Thunder before clinching a 13-5 win over the Strathmore Ice. Margot Kerr logged the latter victory in his first appearance as a goaltender.
