Midget AA Hounds win yet again

Though the AAA SEAC Tigers had the spotlight this weekend during the annual Hockey Hounds Tournament, other local minor hockey teams were in action, seeing some success.

Midget AA

The Can Pak Environmen­tal Midget AA Hounds played against, and beat the Calgary Royals this weekend.

The Hounds fell down 2-0 after the first period, but were able to tie the game by the end of the third at a score of 3-3 thanks to goals from Jacob Milne, Grant Forbes and Ethan Boutkan.

Zachary Dovichak then scored the game winner with 7:10 left in the final frame.

Dawsen Savage was in net for the win with a 29-save effort.

The Hounds play next on Saturday at 4:45 p.m. at Kinplex 1 against the CBHA Blackhawks.

Midget 15s

The Midget 15 SEAC Tigers split their games this weekend, winning one and losing one.

The Tigers topped the AC Avalanche Saturday 6-4.

Connor Miller, Hunter Kauppi, Kagen Rude, Ty Olinski, Cam Hall and Quade Hughson scored for the Tigers.

Nate Hoffman made 36 saves in the win.

The team then played the CBHA Rangers on the road and fell 11-2.

The team plays Saturday at home against the St. Albert Flyers, then Sunday on the road against the CNHA Blazers.

Pee Wee Hounds

The Pee Wee Hounds played two games this weekend, winning both.

The Hounds topped the Lethbridge Hurricanes Red Friday by a score of 3-2, before beating the same club again Sunday at home by a score of 9-1.

The team is off until Friday Dec. 1 when they travel to Tilley to take on the Bow valley Timberwolv­es.

Bantam Hounds

The Bantam Hounds lost a pair of close games this weekend.

The team played Saturday against the Airdrie Lighting, losing by a score of 7-6.

They then played Sunday, losing 1-0 to the Olds Grizzlys.

The team’s next match is Sunday Dec. 10 against the Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Moose.
