Success all around for Medicine Hat Ringette clubs

It was a great weekend for the Medicine Hat U10-2 Fireblades, keeping their undefeated record alive with two wins over the Airdrie Ring Devils.

The Fireblades won the first game 10-2 , with hat-tricks from Leighton Wright and Sadie Berstad. Alyssa Guy picked up three helpers in the win.

The Fireblades then went on to beat Airdrie 18-3 in the second game.

Darby Amundson, Ella Seale, Reese Tabor and Maren Berstad all scored hat-tricks, while Ryley Sanders was the game’s leader in assists.

The U14B Impact won two games in Rolling Hills Saturday afternoon.

First, the team took on the Calgary Bow View Blackout and won 7-2.

Scoring for the Impact was Kamryn Reid with two, while Ryan Sweet, Alycia Simpson, Ashlyn Unreiner, Nolah Reid, and Kate Balaski also got in on the scoring.

After a short 15-minute break, they faced Airdrie and came out with a 9-3 win.

Nolah Reid, Alycia Simpson and Kamryn Reid all scored two goals for the Impact. Ashlyn Unreiner, Callie Johnson and Karlie Mastel all scored.

The Medicine Hat U14A Tropics played two games this weekend, winning two close games.

Game One was against the Bow View AC/DC

Defence provided offence in this game scoring four of the five goals.

Andie Suhai led the way with two goals. Dimitria Karamanos and Sydney Anderson each scored one, as did Marin Sinclair.

Game two was an even closer match, but the Tropics managed a 4-2 win over the Bow View Edge.

Delaney Mastel led with 2 goals, while Marin Sinclair and Marley Rose added a goal of their own.

The Tropics remain first in their league and extend their undefeated run to 18-0.

The U14B Rogue played a pair of league games in Rolling Hills on Saturday, winning both to remain undefeated on the year.

In the first contest, Rogue met the Airdrie Sting, and won by an 8-1 score. Jena Harty and Kylee Waldegger had a pair of goals each, while other scoring came from Jaelyn Siewert, Hailey Hudson, Hailey Sanders, and then Brienne Ford, who scored the first goal of her ringette career.

Rogue had a similarly strong game against the BowView Blackout, winning 8-2. Sanders netted a hat trick, while Leah Mason collected a pair of goals. Single scores came from Joren Gramlich, Jena Harty, and Hailey Hudson.

The Rouge are now 8-0 on the year.

The Medicine Hat U12B Rage had a big weekend at the annual Lethbridge Ringette Associatio­n Chinook Tournament.

Rage started the tournament matched up against South Calgary Storm, a team that had previously beat the Rage. Medicine Hat took the win this time 9-4 with a hat trick from Jordy Provost.

Hannah Thompson and Pacie Harper added two goals each while Eva Chartrand and Kate Carrier each tacked on one more.

Game two matched Medicine Hat Rage up against Calgary Northwest Rage.

Medicine Hat came out with the win 7-4, with four of the seven goals scored by Jaida Waldegger.

Game three was up against the tournament home team Lethbridge Velocity.

Despite goaltender Linsey Bechtold shutting down Velocity’s offence, the Rage took the loss by a score of 5-4.

The gold medal game was a rematch against the host club, and despite pulling the goalie at the end of the game, Medicine Hat came up short.

The Rage brought home silver medals.

The Medicine Hat Ringette U12C Ice Breakers won both of their league games this past Sunday in Calgary.

The team took down the Cochrane Angry Penguins by a score of 13 to 3 and BowView Devils 6 to 4.

Top point earners were Ava Allchurch, Emerson Brezovski, Grace Ammann and Monique Bird.
