Bantam AAA Tigers split weekend

The Bantam AAA Tigers got their first win of the month this weekend while taking on the Calgary Northstars on home ice.

Calgary was able to get ahead early with a power-play goal, and carried a 1-0 lead into the second frame.

The Tigers were able to strike back with two goals of their own in the second to take a 2-1 lead.

Roman Cherniak scored the Tigers first, which was assisted by Tanner Gold and Gerret Harty.

The second goal came on the power play, and was scored by Caleb Wyrostok. Assists went to Vann Yuhas and Ty Moore.

From there on, Tigers goalie Marek Andres was able to shut the door and led the team to a 2-1 victory.

Andres made 41 saves, good enough for first star of the game honours.

The Tigers then travelled to Calgary to take on the Calgary Bisons.

The club was only able to muster 10 shots on goal throughout the entire game, and took 15 penalties in a 3-0 loss.

Tigers goalie Brendan Olson made 51 saves on 54 shots faced and was named third star.

Midget 15s

The Midget 15 Tigers’ tough season continued this weekend, with a pair of losses on the road.

Saturday the club lost 5-3 to the KC Centennial­s, with goals coming from Brady Dovichak, Quade Hughson and Ryoma Hernandez.

Nate Hoffman was in net, making 27 saves in the loss.

Sunday the team lost 5-1 to the Sherwood Park NIC Squires.

Dre Leismeiste­r scored the lone goal for the Medicine Hat club.

The Tigers now sit at a record of 2-16-1.

The Can Pak Environmen­tal Midget AA Hounds once again split their weekend in a pair of high-scoring games.

Saturday the team fell to 6-2 to the Lethbridge Hurricanes despite outshootin­g them 3938.

Brett Gray had the first goal, assisted by Levi Schlosser and Dawson Hittel. Hittel had the second goal of the game, assisted by Carson Dingwall.

Dawsen Savage was in net for the loss.

Sunday the team took on the CBHA Rangers and came away with a 6-3 win.

Jacob Milne, Dylan Fauth, Austin Klimosko, Dax Wandler and Brett Gray (two) scored for the Hounds.

Aidan Kruger was in net for the win and faced 35 shots.

The Midget AA Hounds are on the road again next weekend to play the Calgary Stampeders on Sunday.

Bantam AA

The Bantam AA Hounds played one game this weekend and lost 4-0 to the Lethbridge Hurricanes.

Bodee Weiss was in net for Medicine Hat and made 32 saves.
