Mission sweep NWX

-

The Medicine Hat Mission under-16A ringette squad marched to a pair of victories this weekend in Calgary.

Jada Harper led the team to an 8-3 win over NWX to kick things off, then Cass Stock picked up the offence with five goals in the second half of a doubleheader to lead Medicine Hat to a resounding 15-2 win.

“Our team is starting to realize that ringette games can be won or lost in the neutral zone,” Mission head coach Marty Robinson said in an email. “With a solid forechecking and constant back pressure up the ice we can increase our chances of success.”

Sydney Carlson locked up both victories between the pipes to keep Medicine Hat in first place entering the Holiday break.

Rogue sweep Shock

The Medicine Hat Rogue under-14B ringette team picked up a two-game sweep over the Calgary East Shock on Saturday.

The Rogue cruised to an 11-1 blowout to open the doubleheader then held on for a 10-5 victory to close out the set with a pair of wins.

Impact split weekend

The Medicine Hat Impact under-14B ringette squad split their Saturday on the ice.

After taking down the second-place Strathmore Ice with a 4-2 doubling-up, the Impact were forced to settle for a hardfought 3-2 loss to the Northwest Outlaws to close out the day.

Penguins go 1-1 against Mavericks

The Medicine Hat under19A Penguins bounced back from an early setback against the Calgary Northwest Mavericks to split a two-game set with a commanding victory.

While the Penguins settled for a 5-3 loss to open the doubleheader in Rolling Hills due partly to a depleted lineup, they battled back for a 9-5 victory thanks to strong performances from Wendy Tetrault and Jada Harper, while affiliate goaltender Sydney Carlson helped out between the pipes.
