Ringette teams ready for Horvath

This past weekend was apparently a quiet one for Medicine Hat ringette teams as they gear up for the Ed Horvath Interprovi­ncial Classic ringette tournament.

The Krue Glass Force tied the Central Alberta Sting 4-4 in open C division play Sunday in Calgary. Jenna McDonnell, Emily Hudson, Amanda Beaudoin and Kennedy Wilson scored for Medicine Hat, which had Keon Clift between the pipes.

Under-19

In under-19 play, the Wild lost 7-4 and 7-3 to the Bow View Edge in a pair of home games. Lauren Klick had two goals and four assists between the two games, while Cameron Selwood and Hannah Heidel each scored twice. Jada Harper had the other goal and Mikayla Claypool was in net.

Under-14

The under-14 Fusion lost a pair of home games Sunday, 10-3 and 14-7 to the Indus Lightning at the Kinplex. No details were reported.

Under-12

Also on home ice, the Medicine Hat Madness under12 team lost 9-1 and 7-0 to Strathmore’s IceScream. Again, no details were reported.

Ed Horvath Interprovi­ncial

Teams in 10 divisions begin the annual Ed Horvath Interprovi­ncial Classic Friday morning at rinks around the city.

In under-10, Medicine Hat is represente­d by the Ice Angels and Eliminator­s. The Surge are in the under-12 A division, while the Madness are in the under-12 B group.

Charge will fly the home flag in the under-14 A division, Fusion in the under-14 B. In under-16 A it’s the Mud Hens, while the Aftershock plays in under-16 B.

Rounding out Hat teams, the Wild are in under-19 A and Smash is in open B.

Finals in all but the bottom under-10 division take place at the Kinplex Sunday.
