Klefbom picks good time for first goal

EDMONTON Oscar Klefbom’s first goal of the season came in overtime as the Edmonton Oilers came away with a 1-0 victory over the Dallas Stars on Tuesday.

Goalie Mikko Koskinen made 28 saves to earn his second career shutout for Edmonton (1111-2).

Anton Khudobin stopped 30 shots in net as the Stars (12-112) lost for the fourth time in their past five games.

Leon Draisaitl made a perfect pass 2:42 into overtime to set up Klefbom for the winner as the Oilers snapped a twogame losing skid.

BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres had to go to overtime after squanderin­g a two-goal third-period lead, but they still made it a perfect 10.

Jeff Skinner scored his teamleadin­g 19th goal 1:19 into overtime, and the Sabres won their 10th straight by beating the San Jose Sharks.

PHILADELPH­IA — Brady Tkachuk scored twice in the third period and Matt Duchene scored the eventual winner with 2:59 left, lifting Ottawa past Philadelph­ia, in the Flyers’ first game since they fired general manager Ron Hextall.

MONTREAL — Curtis McElhinney stopped 48 shots and Carolina defeated the Canadiens in Shea Weber’s return from injury for Montreal.

CHICAGO — Cody Eakin and Shea Theodore each had two goals and an assist, and Vegas picked up its season-high fourth consecutiv­e victory.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Nathan MacKinnon scored twice and Semyon Varlamov made 36 saves for streaking Colorado.

WINNIPEG — Zach AstonReese scored the tiebreakin­g goal with 5:12 remaining off a perfect pass from Phil Kessel, and Pittsburgh rallied past Winnipeg.

Derek Grant’s first of the season pulled the Penguins even 5:08 into the third period. Sidney Crosby and Riley Sheahan also scored for Pittsburgh (10-8-5).

Mark Scheifele scored twice for the Jets (13-8-2), and Brandon Tanev had their other goal.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Josh Archibald had two goals and an assist, and Arizona rallied from a two-goal, third-period deficit for the win.
