Midget 15-year-old team now unbeaten in a month

It was another great result for the South East Athletic Club midget 15-yearold team Saturday, as the Tigers have now gone a full month without a loss.

SEAC beat the Calgary Canucks 5-3 at Brooks, getting a hat trick from Hayden Prosofsky and never trailing in a rare home game not played in Medicine Hat.

Prosofsky had the first three goals for the Tigers, then assisted on Ethan Machan’s game-winner on a power play in the third period. Machan had a threepoint night, while Jarred Schrock got an empty-netter.

Brendan Olson made 17 saves according to the online game sheet, his team outshooting the Canucks 28-20.

South East is 3-0-3 since Nov. 4 and hosts Okotoks (Friday, 7:15 p.m.) and the AC Avalanche (Saturday, 2:15 p.m.) at Hockey Hounds Arena.

Midget AA

trailed. Jacob Milne and Austin Klimosko each had two goals while Matt Lafferty had the other. Shots were 45-40 in Medicine Hat’s favour, as Teron Funk got the win in net.

Medicine Hat also beat Wheatland 5-3 Saturday. Outshooting the Chiefs 34-22, they got goals from Schlosser, Brandon Kasdorf, Ryley Manz, Brayden Anderson and Zackery Dovichak. Nate Hoffman made 19 saves.

Bantam AAA

Facing two of the toughest teams in the province, the South East Athletic Club bantam AAA Tigers had to know it’d be a tough weekend.

While they didn’t get a win, the Tigers did earn a point in impressive fashion. On Saturday in Lloydminster, SEAC scored twice in the final period for a 3-3 tie with a Bobcats team that’s 11-2-3.

Vann Yuhas opened the scoring in the first period, then Dawson Seitz scored in the third before a desperation shorthanded marker from Tyler Broesky with 1:25 remaining earned the draw.

Shots were 31-29 for the Bobcats. Bodee Weiss made 28 stops in the Tigers net.

On Sunday the Tigers fell behind early in Leduc and wound up losing 5-3.

Broesky, Seitz and Shane Smith had the goals. Leduc led in shots 37-34, and Kaiden Morin made 32 saves for SEAC, which was behind 2-0 through 20 minutes, clawed back to make it 3-3 entering the third but couldn’t pull ahead from there.

The Tigers now play their next five games at home, including three in December. They host Lethbridge Saturday (7:45 p.m.) and Airdrie Sunday (2:45 p.m.) at Hockey Hounds.

Bantam AA

The bantam AA Hounds split their weekend, losing 3-2 Saturday in Red Deer before picking up a 6-3 win in Eckville over the West Central Tigers Sunday.

Tiaga Hernandez and Aiden Ma scored Saturday. Both days the Hounds were outshot, but Rylan Hodgson’s 36 saves helped Sunday while Hernandez’s two goals, plus singles from Gavin Smith, Brady Mahar, Braden Patey and Caleb Garrecht made the difference.

Peewee AA

The peewee AA Hounds beat Foothills 9-1 at the Moose Rec Centre Sunday.

The South Central Alberta Hockey League’s report shows Noah Derouin, Slade McFadzen and Josiah Jackson each had two goals for Medicine Hat. Deegan Kinniburgh, Julian Laque and Ryan Miller were credited with one each.

Peewee girls

The Wildcats peewee girls team beat Airdrie 7-2 Saturday at Hockey Hounds Arena.

Brianna Finke and Riley Gramlich each had two goals, while Hannah Orr, Kera Grant and Keyana Bert had the others for the home side.
