Alleged robbery suspect turns out to be 15-year-old teen with pellet gun

A 15-year-old male teenager has been arrested and charged after police say he pointed a pellet gun during a liquor store robbery on Monday night.

Medicine Hat police stated early Tuesday that they were searching for a male suspect after a robber took cash and merchandis­e from a liquor store on South Railway Street in the early evening hours of Sept. 21.

A release on Wednesday states that the weapon used was a pellet gun. The teen is charged with the use of an offensive weapon in a robbery and wearing a disguise to commit an indictable offence. He was released from custody on conditions and is next scheduled to appear in court Oct. 19.
