Club Tigers and Medicine Hat Hounds all had their games from this weekend postponed due to newly introduced provincial health guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19.

The Hounds U13, U15 and U18 AA squads were al scheduled to hit the ice at some point this weekend, as well as SEAC’s U15 AAA team.

The last team to get in a game was the U15 AA Hounds, who picked up a 5-3 victory over the Lethbridge Hurricanes last Wednesday in Bow Island.

Jesse Klimosko found Jack Henry three minutes into the game to open the scoring, then quickly added one of his own for a 2-0 lead.

Lethbridge’s Braeden Jack cut into the score in the dying moments of the first, then Jayden Spence knotted the game up on a power play early in the second — but the Hounds came storming back.

Hudson Gainer re-established the lead two minutes later, then Carson Wereley struck shorthanded to give Medicine Hat a two-goal cushion after 40 minutes.

Medicine Hat’s Wyatt Dreger pushed the game out of reach midway through the third period, finishing with a goal and two assists. Briggs Olson mustered a late tally for Lethbridge to round out the scoring.

Hounds goaltender Kayne Wright turned away 30 shots to secure the victory for Medicine Hat, while Lethbridge’s Everett Hauck stopped 31 in the loss.

The Hounds (2-0-0) and Hurricanes (0-2-) were slated to close out their four game set on the weekend. Medicine Hat’s next scheduled opponent is the Foothill Bisons, a four-game series listed on the SCAHL website as starting Dec. 5.
