-

If you’ve ever wondered about the history of pandemics, the South Eastern Alberta Archaeological Society has an event planned to provide some fascinating information.

At the organization’s meeting on Feb. 24 the public is invited to listen online to guest speaker Dr. Kevin McGeough of the University of Lethbridge who will speak on “pandemics of the ancient world.”

McGeough will specifically focus on one which occurred in the Late Bronze Age in Turkey and another in Classical Greece during the Peloponnesian War. He will discuss how these societies responded and the impact the pandemics had. It is an opportunity to see how decisions made many years ago have shaped us.
